The Academic Committee for the College of Media and Public Relations at the Emirates College of Technology held a meeting on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, concerning the upcoming Ministry visit for the re-accreditation of the Mass Communication Program. The meeting was chaired by the Provost Prof. Ghassan Al Qaimari, and attended by Dr. Mohammed Fyadh, Dean of the College of Media and Public Relations; Dr. Ali Khalifa, Director of IRQA; and the following committee members were also present at the meeting;
Dr. Karim Wahba, Human Resources Manager; Dr. Amjad Abdul Qadar, Head of Media Department; Dr. Amor ben Amor, Head of Public Relations; Dr. Feras Hussein Ibrahim, Head of General Education and Foundation Department; Mr. Mohannad Alshayeb, Director of Student Affairs and Retention; Mr. Fadi Nader, Accounting and Finance Manager, Head of Research Unit, Dr. Bilel Elayeb; Mr. Saleh Al Jarrah, Campus Administrator; Mr. Ahmad Matalqeh, Learning Resource Center Manager; Mr. Fadi Al Dweik, Manager of Student Admission; Mr. Suhib Alamereyyeh, Manager of Student Registration; and Mr. Shah Wazir Khan, Manager of IT Operation and Support.
The specifics of this academic meeting were on key institutional and academic matters about the upcoming Ministry visit for the re-accreditation of the Mass Communication Program. The agenda of the meeting includes an introduction, scope, and purpose of visit, presentation of key institutional developments since previous accreditation, strategic plans, and areas of academic improvement.
The academic committee has also checked the institutional documentation process for the Mass Communication Program since previous licensure including, Faculty Handbook, Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, Catalog, Quality Assurance Manual, Policies and Procedures Manual, Fact Book, Strategic and Action Plan(s) – institution level, Strategic and Action Plan – college level, Organizational for both institution and college level, annual reports, assessment information; course schedule for current semester for all programs in the college; current study plan for all programs in the college; detailed faculty teaching assignment for all faculty in the college; complete faculty files, complete staff files; list of books and current journals (related to the program), etc.
On this occasion, the Provost Prof. Ghassan Al Qaimari appreciated the significant efforts made by all the academic committee members to achieve success and requirements achievement during the upcoming Ministry visit for the re-accreditation of the Mass Communication Program at ECT.
