MISSION OF THE PROGRAM

The mission of the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences – Major in Medical Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) is to be a premier in improving medical imaging sciences through graduating fully qualified graduates to fulfill the need in the community and the region, also to deliver high quality research in the field of medical imaging.

The goal of the program is to produce competent, skilled practitioners who can undergo different imaging procedures in hospitals, clinics, research laboratories and industry, professionally. Furthermore, students are prepared to be good researchers who can pursue their studies in the future. So, the program was designed to:

  1. Provide students with the knowledge needed to pursue their major.
  2. Expand student’s understanding of self, environment, and society.
  3. Enable students to build a base of knowledge and skills that are needed for lifelong learning.
  4. Give students the knowledge, skills, and motivations to make ethical decision based on understanding of the societal values.

Detailed Description of the Assessment Content

  • The project will be designed to show understanding and Communicate effectively, in oral, written or listening situations in business and daily settings in Arabic or English.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to acquire the skills technological literacy and use the application of technology to achieve personal and educational goals.
  • The objective of this group work is to familiarize students with the knowledge in understanding and apply mathematical and statistical concepts to solve quantitative business and real life problems.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to understand and apply scientific methods.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to demonstrate an understanding of the basic theories and concepts in social and behavioral sciences and apply them to personal, social, and developmental issues.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to understand the major ethical concepts and theories in the professional fields.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to manage and participate in the development and evaluation of learning strategies appropriate to the situation.
  • A group work will be discussed in the class to demonstrate an understanding of current environmental challenges.
  • Graduation project! and 2 will be discussed in the presentation day the demonstration of the theoretical knowledge and technical skills in the performance of routine laboratory testing in applying the practice standards in safety, professional behavior and ethical conduct by respecting patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.
  • Internship project will be discussed in the presentation day the use critical thinking and reasoning skills for problem solving…in the management of healthcare in the UAE.
