A delegation of senior leaders from Emirates College of Technology attended Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit which was held in Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi, UAE on Tuesday, October 29.
Under the theme “Abu Dhabi Smart City”, the summit emphasized the role of Smart City Technologies in changing the way we communicate and interact with one another. The use of Emerging Technologies such as the Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Advanced Robotics, and more, adds intelligence to urban infrastructure and municipal services.
The ECT delegation was chaired by Prof. Abdul-Rahim Sabouni, (College President) and Mr. Wael Al Anqar (Chairman of Board of Trustees), and attended by Dr. Wesam Alanqar (VP for Strategy and Business Development), Dr. Mohamed Dhiaf (Dean, Faculty of Business Administration); Prof. Suzan Elkalliny (Dean, Faculty of Media and Public Relations); Dr. Amor Ben Amor (Head of Public Relations and Advertising Department); Dr. Riadh Ben Omar, and with the participation of some ECT students.
The summit hosted several panel discussions that highlighted crucial issues facing smart city technologies including: using information and communication technologies (ICTs) and other means to improve quality of life, efficiency of urban operation and services, and competitiveness, while ensuring that it meets the needs of present and future generations with respect to economic, social and environmental aspects.
