Renewal of Accreditation of the Bachelor of Mass Communication

ECT Holds an Open Day

The Emirates College of Technology holds an open day on its campus in Abu Dhabi city on Tuesday, 17 September 2019. ECT President Meets with Faculty Staff

On Sunday 8th September, the entire Emirates College of Technology staff and faculty assembled to greet one another, catch up on the latest university news, new policies, and meet new members. The ECT Annual Meeting was presided by the President and CEO, Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, who welcomed everyone back on campus and made university announcements. The president announced that E.C.T is launching several new programs in engineering and medicine that will provide students with the skill sets to succeed in the world of tomorrow and leverage the University’s global network of alumni and friends to prepare graduates for both immediate and long-lasting success.

Bureau Veritas Visits ECT

Commissioners from Bureau Veritas visited the Emirates College of Technology (ECT) for ISO 9001:2015 re-certification audit on July 9, 2019. The visiting team and ECT senior management discussed avenues of mutual cooperation which included coordination on issues like academic accreditation, Quality Assurance; Student Services; Academic Research; Finance and Administrative Affairs; Human Resource; and Community Outreach; and ECT’s access to MOE’s resources. They also outline the importance to maintain the highest level of quality in all ECT operations.

Emirates College of Technology (ECT) held the ECT Ramadan Sports Tournament at the ECT campus on May 14, 2019, to promote health and fitness and provide an opportunity for different members of the ECT community to interact with one another in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. The tournament had 8 sports teams were organized by the Office of Student Affairs at ECT. The sports tournament was held to promote friendship, cultivate healthy lifestyle habits, and enhance wellness among the college's students and staff and to bring them closer to one another and to the College, as they constitute an integral part of ECT's wider community.

Rabdan Academy

A delegation from ECT visited Rabdan Academy answering an invitation extended by the Academy’s President Rear Admiral James Anthony Morse C.B. The delegation from ECT included the President, Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, PROVOST, Dr Ghassan Al Qaimari, and CBSRO, Dr Wesam Al Anqar. The delegation was given a brief history of the Academy which was established in the year 2013 and their strategic direction. Furthermore, the delegation was taken on a tour throughout the Academy to witness their facilities and premises. Abu Dhabi Radio Hosts ECT Students

Radio and TV students from ECT have met with Mr Abdullah Al Zaabi, General Director of Abu Dhabi Radio. This visit, which was designed by the Student Affairs Department at ECT, has allowed students to know more about the vitality of Radio in media and its role to improve the community.Students had the chance to get familiar with the Radio department sections such as news editing room and the main control room- that works automatically to connect the Radios to each other and broadcast programs directly. After that, students were introduced to the technique through which the programs go live straight from inside the modern studios of Emarat FM, in addition to the key role they play in educating their audience through the programs they offer.

Student Council Elections at ECT

Amidst honest and fair competition, the Emirates College of Technology has witnessed the student council elections for the academic year 2017-2018, following which, students have chosen President and Vice President for both male and female students’ councils. 15 candidates went for the council; Khamees Ghanem Al Morr, Management student, has won the presidency of the council, and Mohammad Saeed Al Maamari, Media student, won as Vice President. As for the females, Fatima Maher Hammami, Health Management student, won the President chair, whereas Roula Hekmat Kheir, Media student, won as the Vice President.
