OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (February 12, 2016) — The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is pleased to announce that Emirates College of Technology, www.ect.ac.ae, is a candidate for ACBSP accreditation of their business programs.
As a candidate for ACBSP accreditation, Emirates College of Technology has been assigned a mentor who is working with Dr. Shahira Abdel-Hameid, Assistant Professor – HRM, to guide Emirates College of Technology through the accreditation process. They will be required to prepare a self-study of the current business program. Peer evaluators then follow-up with a site visit. The ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commission will grant final approval of accreditation.
“We are delighted to have Emirates College of Technology as a candidate for ACBSP accreditation,” said Dr. Steve Parscale, Chief Accreditation Officer for ACBSP. “The fact that ECT is pursuing ACBSP accreditation shows their commitment to providing the highest quality business education for their students,” he said.
Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the business programs offered at Upper Iowa University School of Business meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
Prof. Taylor, ECT’s President
“Emirates College of Technology places great importance on delivering academic programs that meet the highest standard of quality” said Prof. Bruce Taylor, ECT’s President. “In this regard, we value this opportunity to pursue internationally recognized accreditation for our programs in business fields, and we look forward to working closely with ACBSP as their reviewers take a close look at our programs and suggest ways to further improve them.”
Dr. Shahira Abdel-Hameid, College Coordinator of the International Accreditation
“On behalf of the ECT family and myself, it is a privilege and honor to receive the candidacy from a globally recognized (ACBSP) business specialized accreditation council. This obviously emphasizes ECT’s vision and commitment towards continuous improvement of its academic programs to become one of the leading private higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates” said Dr. Shahira. “Our students from the College of Business and IT will appreciate the value of being awarded a degree with an internationally accredited program.”
