Emirates College of Technology celebrated graduation of its 19th batch for the year 2015-2016 in the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi.
The ceremony was initiated by welcoming the sponsor of the event and guests, then the national anthem was played, and it was followed by recital of the Holy Quran by student Mohammad AlHousani. After that, everybody stood up for one minute mourning the honest martyrs of the country.
Then, the audience watched a short film showing the college stages of development throughout history, and the improvements that took place since establishment in 1993.
Mr. Wael Al Anqar, Head of the Board of Trustees, addressed the audience welcoming and congratulating them. He pointed out that the graduates number is 978 (male and female students), and this includes 241 BA male graduates and 339 Diploma male graduates, as well as 181 female BA graduates and 217 female Diploma graduates.
Mr. Al Anqar added that the college has striven to be among the best private universities the UAE, providing high quality services in line with the best international universities. He stated that the college has been developing a new strategic plan for the coming 5 years towards overcoming challenges and constructing new partnerships with private and public institutions- depending on the Emirati labor market demands. ECT is also offering new professional programs and is going in the process of building its new campus in Masdar city.
Next, Professor Bruce Taylor gave a speech congratulating the graduates for this special day which they have been awaiting impatiently; for harvesting of knowledge and accomplishments of ambitions as well as serving their society. He also talked about the advancements the college has been going through to achieve a much higher status as an academic institution.
Sharing with them this great occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan gave the presents and certificates to excellent students and graduates, and he took photos with them.
On the other side, Mr. AlAnqar presented a gift to H.H. SH. Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to thank him for honoring and sponsoring this grand celebration.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates offered their pledge to the wise leadership of the UAE to exert much more effort in their endeavors towards education, development and improving the country.
